Senior VP of Corporate Development
Bill has a 25-year track record of delivering complex technology services and solutions to the hotel industry. Bill was one of the founding executives of Pegasus Solutions in 1989 and led an innovative team that pioneered the development of the industry’s first global platform designed for the management and distribution of hotel content and reservation transactions for travel agents via GDSs and for consumers via the Internet. The hotel reservation distribution platform is still a core industry technology being used by the majority of hotels and online travel agencies around the world. During his tenure with Pegasus, Nicholson was also instrumental in the launch of its travel agency commission payment business and central reservation technology businesses. He served in numerous capacities, including president, chief operating officer and chief information officer.
After serving 15 years at Pegasus, Nicholson joined SynXis in 2005, an emerging hotel technology company that was acquired by Sabre Holdings. There he served as president and general manager until 2007. SynXis developed and deployed central reservations and private-labeled web site technology for leading hotel companies around the world. During his tenure he led the company’s growth, global expansion and integration into the larger Sabre holding company.
Most recently Bill has provided strategic consulting, interim executive and advisory services to a number of travel and technology companies both private and public including Lanyon, Hudson Crossing, RoomKey, HomeAway, Sabre Holdings, TripCraft, Amadeus IT Group and Harland Clarke.
Bill has served on the boards of directors of two portfolio companies of HM Capital Partners: Activant Solutions and Realm Business Solutions. He also has served on the executive advisory board of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA).
Bill’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Texas A&M University-Commerce and graduate work from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
